Why do people flee from their countries?

Around the globe people flee from their homes. Some flee within their own country, others seek refuge in foreign countries. The causes are different: war, famine, natural disasters, or the desire for a better life. We take a look at these reasons and discuss them with Thomas Schroedter from the University of Paderborn.

Many refugees have traveled a long time since the situacion in their country got worse. There are many reasons of migration. The main reason is war in the majority of countries. Many emigrants are Moslims, so the religion can be a reason, too. The emigrants are afraid of a security their families. They migrate to countries where it's safe. Motives of migration
Since the dawn of humanity, mankind had an inner drive to better their own life. Millenia past, this meant getting more clothes for the colder seasons, or building a bigger hut for the growing family. This will to live and survive is what pushes us through life.
